uni-assist: Turn JPG Scans into PDFs for My assist

Have certificate scans in JPG or PNG format? Create a complete, readable PDF for My assist, then check page order, file size and upload requirements.

Official upload guidance checked on 12 September 2026. The current instructions in My assist and from your university take precedence. PDFMinto is an independent tool and is not affiliated with uni-assist.

What does uni-assist require?

uni-assist requires complete, clearly readable PDF scans. Also check the guidance for your country of origin and the documents required by your university. Upload your files under “My documents” in My assist.

The public upload page linked here does not specify a universal file-size limit. Do not assume a fixed MB limit from another guide: check the current upload field in your account.

Official guidance: uploading documents

1. Check your scans before converting them

Open each JPG or PNG. Check that all edges, reverse sides containing information, grades, dates and stamps are visible. Zoom in on small print. Rescan blurry or cropped areas; converting to PDF cannot repair them.

A visible stamp or handwritten signature in a scan is different from a cryptographic PDF signature. Do not use this workflow to modify digitally signed original PDFs. Conversion also does not replace certification or a required translation.

2. Convert JPG or PNG scans into a PDF

Open Images to PDF and select the scans belonging to one document. Put the pages in order in the preview and rotate any sideways or upside-down pages. Do not automatically combine certificates, your CV and other evidence into one file; follow the upload categories.

Choose a page size that fits the image, or A4, and create the PDF. A4 output adds a margin and does not automatically crop the image. Download the result and open it for inspection.

This tool processes JPG/PNG images locally in your browser. It does not offer OCR, automatic perspective correction or automatic edge removal. You can select up to 40 files with a total input size of 30 MB; each image must be no larger than 24 megapixels.

3. Combine or organize existing PDF pages

If you already have several ordinary PDFs for the same supporting document, you can merge them in the required order. For a single PDF, use the page organizer to correct page order and rotation.

Do not remove required pages to meet a size limit. Splitting is only appropriate if the particular submission allows multiple files. The local PDF tools do not support encrypted PDFs, digital signatures, interactive forms, annotations including link annotations, or attachments. Keep your original.

4. Compress only if the upload limit requires it

Compare the actual size of your finished PDF with the limit shown in the upload field. Converting images to PDF does not automatically make them smaller. If the result is too large, open the compressor and choose a suitable target size or a custom value.

PDFMinto uses decimal MB: 1 MB equals 1,000,000 bytes. If the portal’s rounding is unclear, leave some room below its limit. Check the actual output size and result status after processing. Selecting a target does not guarantee that it will be reached.

Unlike the local tools, compression uploads the file for server processing and temporarily uses private Vercel Blob storage. Read the privacy information before processing personal documents. Compression accepts up to 30 MB and 200 pages; protected, digitally signed and interactive form documents are excluded.

5. Check the result and upload it to My assist

Compare the original and the result page by page: all required pages, correct order, complete edges and legible small print. Pay particular attention to grades, stamps and any verification marks. If quality has deteriorated, use a gentler setting or a better scan.

Select the appropriate category in your account and upload the checked file. Then check the displayed upload status. If a file is rejected despite meeting the format and size requirements, note the error message and contact the relevant support team. More compression will not fix an account or portal error.

Frequently asked questions

Can I just rename a JPG file to .pdf? No. Changing the extension does not change its format. Create a real PDF and open the downloaded result.

Must I submit all application documents in one PDF? Do not infer that from this guide. Follow the categories and specific instructions in your account and from your university.

Can I always get a PDF below the limit? No. Already optimized files may offer very little room for reduction. Do not choose an unreadable version just because it is smaller.

Does PDFMinto guarantee acceptance of my documents? No. A technically readable PDF does not replace the substantive requirements or the responsible institution’s review.

Source and scope

This guide covers the technical preparation of scans. The official source was checked on 12 September 2026. It is not binding advice on recognition of qualifications or admission. If instructions differ, follow the responsible institution’s guidance.
