UGM postgraduate PDF uploads: stay between 150 and 800 KB

Prepare readable diploma and transcript scans for UGM’s domestic postgraduate application, checking both the minimum and maximum file size.

Checked 22 October 2026 against UGM’s domestic postgraduate procedure page, dated 13 November 2025. Check your programme and intake before applying. PDFMinto is independent of UGM.

Check the applicable upload field

The published master’s and doctoral procedures for Indonesian applicants specify PDF scans of academic records between 150 KB and 800 KB per file. Transcripts must include every page and the GPA. Ask your programme about additional requirements and confirm the current field before preparing a copy; this guide does not establish whether an intake is open.

Prepare one complete record at a time

Keep the original diploma and transcript files. Check that all edges, names, grades, stamps and page numbers are visible. Separate document categories: do not combine a diploma and transcript merely to save an upload step. The relevant portal field determines how to group a record.

For ordinary JPG/PNG scans, use Images to PDF and arrange pages in reading order. For separate ordinary PDF pages of the same record, use Merge PDF. Download the assembled file before deciding whether compression is necessary. These tools work in the browser and do not upload the files. A new PDF can be larger than its source images.

Merge PDF

Reduce oversized PDFs without overlooking the minimum

If a complete ordinary PDF exceeds the field limit, try a custom compression target of 0.75 MB, or 750,000 bytes. This is a suggested margin below 800 KB, not a university instruction. PDFMinto uses decimal units; follow an explicit byte limit shown by the portal. A target is a ceiling, not a guaranteed output size.

Compression uploads the PDF to the server; temporary processing files are deleted when the task ends. Inputs are limited to 30 MB and 200 pages. Read the privacy notice before using the service. Download and measure the result: it could be below the required minimum even when compression reports that the target was met.

Check both boundaries. If the result is below 150 KB, use an existing compliant original or return to the scanner or authoring application for a clearer, higher-quality export. Do not pad bytes, duplicate pages or add unrelated content. PDFMinto does not enforce a minimum output size or guarantee this size range.

Compare every page before uploading

Open the exact saved result, compare its page count and order with the originals, and zoom in on small grades, names, seals and fine lines. Smaller is not better if verification becomes difficult. Preserve every required page; do not rasterize whole pages or remove material to force a target.

If a compliant readable copy cannot be produced, return to the source export or ask the admissions office for instructions. Upload each record yourself in the correct field and review the portal response. Download success does not prove that the university accepts the document.

Keep protected documents out of this workflow

This workflow is for ordinary supporting scans. Do not process digitally signed, encrypted or interactive-form PDFs, including protected electronic certificates or declarations. Keep those originals and seek official instructions for a suitable submission copy. Local PDF tools also reject annotations and attachments.

Images to PDF and Merge PDF support up to 40 inputs, 30 MB total and 200 PDF pages; each image is limited to 24 megapixels. These are product limits, not university page allowances. They do not certify, translate or perform OCR.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the 500 KB preset? It may produce a smaller file, but the result still needs to satisfy the lower bound and remain readable. Measure the downloaded file rather than relying on the selected preset.

Should I compress a file already in range? Usually there is no need if it is complete and legible. Keep the original.

Does the English guide cover overseas applicants? No. Its scope is the cited Indonesian-applicant procedure; consult the separate international route.

Does this guarantee admission or successful upload? No. Programme requirements, document authenticity and the portal’s checks remain separate.
