UFAPE Ingressa: Prepare Document PDFs Under 5 MB

Turn document scans into a PDF, reduce an oversized file and check every page before sending it through UFAPE Ingressa.

Official Ingressa instructions checked on 19 September 2026. PDFMinto is independent of UFAPE. This is a file-preparation guide, not an announcement that applications are open.

Confirm the document category first

The UFAPE Ingressa help page requires document uploads in PDF format, no larger than 5 MB, through the link named for each document. Separate photograph and video requirements apply to heteroidentification; this guide does not convert those submissions to PDF.

Check the notice and call that apply to you before preparing files. The public help page refers to Edital 01/2026 for that separate procedure. Do not assume these instructions establish a current deadline or apply to a later edition.

Prepare clear scans and keep the originals

Save a separate working copy. Check all required sides and pages, including document edges, small text, dates and visible stamps. Retake blurred or cropped photographs before conversion: compression cannot restore lost information.

If a readable PDF already meets the requirement, keep it as it is. If you only have JPG or PNG document scans, use Images to PDF, place the pages in order, correct rotation and download one PDF for the relevant document. Do not put unrelated upload categories into one bundle.

Convert JPG or PNG scans to PDF

Combine related pages only when necessary

If the pages of one document are spread across ordinary PDFs, Merge PDF can combine them in the chosen order. Check the result page by page. Combining files can make the output larger; it does not establish that it meets the upload limit.

The local tools accept up to 40 files and 30 MB total input, with a 200-page PDF limit and 24 megapixels per image. These are PDFMinto limits, not university rules. The cited help page does not specify a universal page or file-count limit.

Reduce an oversized PDF and measure the result

Open the compressor and select an ordinary PDF. Choose a custom target of 4.9 MB as a working margin below 5 MB. PDFMinto uses decimal units: this target is 4,900,000 bytes. The margin is our suggestion, not an additional official requirement.

Start compression, then read the actual output size and target status. A selected target does not prove success. Download the useful result and inspect its file size on your device. Already optimised or mainly text-based PDFs may not become much smaller.

Review readability before sending

Open the exact file you intend to upload. Compare page count, order and content against the original. Zoom in on small writing, numbers and stamps. Never discard required pages or replace a complete document with a screenshot just to reduce its size.

If the result remains too large or important detail becomes unreadable, use a better source scan or ask the university for guidance. Keep the original. Return to the correct Ingressa document field, follow its instructions and check the upload status yourself. PDFMinto does not submit or guarantee acceptance.

Privacy and unsupported files

Image-to-PDF assembly and merging run locally in your browser. Compression uploads your PDF for server processing and temporarily uses private Vercel Blob storage. Read the tool privacy information before processing personal evidence; local preparation does not make later compression local.

Compression accepts ordinary PDFs up to 30 MB and 200 pages, but rejects encrypted, digitally signed and interactive-form documents. Local PDF tools also reject annotations, including links, and attachments. Preserve protected originals and ask for an accepted alternative rather than stripping protections.

Frequently asked questions

Should I put a required portrait or video into a PDF? No. Those are separate upload types; follow the applicable official procedure.

Is renaming a JPG to .pdf sufficient? No. Use actual conversion and check the downloaded PDF.

Is 4.9 MB the official limit? No. It is a suggested working target. Check the actual output bytes and the current upload instructions.

Does a small PDF mean my documents are complete? No. File preparation does not determine eligibility, completeness or acceptance.

Source and scope
