Confirm the rule for your exam edition
The public Inep FAQ specifies a scan of the front and back of the diploma, in PDF, PNG or JPG, with a maximum size of 2 MB, as requested by the registration system. It does not establish a universal file-count or page-count limit in that answer. Follow the fields and current notice for your edition; do not infer a submission deadline from this guide.
This guide helps prepare an ordinary scan. It does not authenticate a diploma, validate qualifications or replace consular, apostille or other document requirements. Preserve the official original.
1. Capture both sides clearly
Scan both sides with all edges, seals, text and verification details visible. Avoid glare, shadows and cropped text. Check the images before conversion. If the system provides separate fields, keep the sides separate; do not assume a combined file is required.
When one PDF is appropriate for the field, open Images to PDF, select the JPG/PNG scans, put the front before the back and correct rotation. Download and inspect both pages. The tool does not perform OCR, fix perspective or restore illegible details.
2. Assemble only the requested document
If the two sides already exist as ordinary PDFs and belong in one field, use Merge PDF and choose their order. Do not merge unrelated identity documents, certificates or an entire application. Conversion or merging can increase size, so check the new download.
Image conversion and PDF merging run locally in the browser. Limits are 40 inputs, 30 MB total and 200 PDF pages; each image is limited to 24 megapixels. PDF inputs with encryption, digital signatures, interactive forms, annotations or attachments are unsupported. Do not remove digital signatures from an official original.
3. Reduce an oversized ordinary PDF
For a supported PDF within the 30 MB input limit, try a custom compression target of 1.9 MB, or 1,900,000 bytes. This is a suggested margin below the FAQ’s 2 MB figure, not an additional Inep requirement. Download the result and check actual bytes; choosing the target does not prove success.
Compression runs on the server with temporary private Vercel Blob storage and supports up to 200 pages. Encrypted, digitally signed and interactive-form PDFs are rejected. Compression may reduce image detail and cannot guarantee the target. For an already acceptable JPG or PNG, conversion is unnecessary; PDFMinto’s PDF compressor is not a direct JPG size reducer.
4. Review the exact file before uploading
Compare both sides against the originals. Zoom in on names, dates, seals, signatures visible in the scan and verification codes; check orientation, completeness and page order. A scan of an ink signature is different from a cryptographically signed PDF, which must be preserved.
Check the saved file’s bytes and the current field instructions, then upload it yourself through the official system. Inspect any preview and confirmation. If the output remains too large or becomes unclear, rescan or improve the source settings instead of removing a side or required detail. No file-preparation tool guarantees institutional acceptance.
Frequently asked questions
Must I convert every image to PDF? No. The FAQ also lists PNG and JPG. Use a format accepted by the current field.
Must front and back always be one file? Follow the system’s fields. The FAQ requires both sides but does not settle every field layout.
Can I upload a digitally signed diploma to the compressor? No. Preserve it and ask the institution for the correct submission method.
Is this the current exam notice? No. The source is the public FAQ checked on the date above; the edition-specific notice and portal remain essential.
