ANTS Vehicle Registration: Reduce a PDF Below 1 MB

A supporting PDF is too large for a French vehicle-registration upload? Check the 1 Mo rule, reduce its size and review readability before submitting.

Official France Titres vehicle-registration help checked on 14 September 2026. PDFMinto is independent and is not affiliated with ANTS. Follow the instructions shown in your own application.

Which ANTS upload does the 1 Mo rule cover?

The France Titres vehicle-registration help page accepts JPEG, PNG and PDF supporting files and states that each scanned item must not exceed 1 Mo. It also warns that unreadable evidence will be refused. This guide concerns that vehicle-registration workflow, not every service operated by ANTS.

Open the help page and expand “Comment fournir mes justificatifs/mes documents au format numérique ?”. Check your own upload field as well. Do not apply this number automatically to a driving-licence, passport or identity-card application.

Official vehicle-registration upload requirements (French)

1. Inspect the original before reducing its size

Check the file format and actual size in your device’s file information. If a readable JPEG or PNG already meets the upload requirements, you do not need to convert it to PDF. Converting an image into PDF does not necessarily make it smaller.

For an oversized ordinary PDF, keep the original and inspect all pages. Check document edges, dates, address text, stamps and any verification marks. Rescan a blurred or cut-off document first: compression cannot recover missing detail.

2. Choose a target with a little room below the limit

Open PDFMinto’s compressor and select the PDF. Choose a custom target of 0.95 MB, or 950 KB when that unit is available. PDFMinto uses decimal units, so this example means 950,000 bytes. It is a suggested working target, not an additional ANTS requirement.

The official page gives the limit in Mo without defining its byte convention. Leaving some room avoids aiming exactly at the boundary. Start compression, then read the actual output size and the target-result status. Selecting a target does not prove it was reached.

3. Check size and readability together

Download the result and open that exact file. Compare every page against the original at a useful zoom level. Verify that the required pages remain present, in order, and that small print, identifiers and stamps are still legible.

If the file remains too large, try another suitable target only while keeping the evidence readable. If the smaller version loses important detail, use the original, rescan more carefully or ask the service for help. Do not remove required pages or use a whole-page screenshot to manufacture a smaller submission.

If your evidence starts as images or several PDFs

Use Images to PDF only when you actually need one PDF from related JPG/PNG scans. Arrange the pages and correct their rotation before downloading. If related pages already exist as separate PDFs, Merge PDF can combine them. Do not combine unrelated upload categories or assume that the entire application must be one file.

Measure the combined result afterwards; merging can increase the size. Existing JPEG/PNG evidence that already complies can stay in that format. These local tools have a total input limit of 30 MB and up to 40 files; PDFs are limited to 200 pages and each image to 24 megapixels.

Privacy and documents this workflow cannot process

Compression uploads your PDF for server processing and temporarily uses private Vercel Blob storage. Read the privacy information before using personal evidence. The separate merge and image-to-PDF tools work locally in the browser. A local preparation step does not make a later compression step local.

Compression accepts ordinary PDFs up to 30 MB and 200 pages and rejects encrypted, digitally signed and interactive-form PDFs. Local PDF tools also reject annotations, including link annotations, and attachments. Preserve signed originals and obtain an accepted alternative from the issuer or receiving service; do not remove protections to force processing.

Upload the checked result and handle remaining errors

Return to the correct vehicle-registration field and attach the checked file. Read the resulting status and keep a copy. A file meeting the size limit can still fail because of readability, document requirements or a portal issue. PDFMinto does not submit the application or guarantee acceptance.

If the portal rejects a readable, correctly formatted file below its displayed limit, retain the error message and use the official help channel. Further compression is not a remedy for an account problem.

Frequently asked questions

Is 1 Mo the limit for every ANTS procedure? No. This article uses the vehicle-registration help page. Other services need their own current requirements.

Is 0.95 MB an official limit? No. It is a suggested PDFMinto target below the published 1 Mo ceiling. Check the actual bytes after processing.

Should I convert an acceptable JPG to PDF? No. The cited workflow accepts JPEG and PNG as well as PDF.

Can every PDF reach the target? No. Already optimised or text-heavy PDFs may offer little reduction. A readable result is essential.
